The JaCKPie Theatre Workshop
JaCKPie.com
Atlanta’s source for Long-form Improv Comedy
.

The JaCKPie Theatre Workshop at Relapse offers cutting edge improv comedy, sketch, and film. JaCKPie is also the Atlanta home for classes and instruction in long-form improvisation and spontaneous theater.
The JTW style draws heavily on training in conventional acting, directing and playwriting and brings to the stage improv unlike anything else in Atlanta. Three shows every Saturday Night present a mix of our performers, giving them an opportunity to present what they do best while challenging them to push the edges of the craft and to grow the art form itself. Shows are inexpensive and, on Saturday, one ticket gets you into all the shows for the night!
There are JaCKPie classes for veteran improvisers as well as for people completely new to the craft of improvisation. And many of the improvisers who complete a JaCKPie training program advance to improv teams that perform at Relapse. For registration, cost, and other details, go to Jackpie.com

Some History
.
The JaCKPie Theatre Workshop (JTW) began in 2001 as a two-man show created by Chris Pierce and Jim Karwisch to offer Atlanta a unique entertainment experience and to represent Atlanta at festivals across the country. That grew into a production company of over 25 players and a training school called JaCKPie University. Some re-invention later, new shows were premiered in their 2006 Season when JaCKPie moved in to their current home at the Relapse Theatre. If you want to know more, check out jackpie.com/history.html
